BC - Yukon

BC - Yukon
Jade City, Cassiar, BC

What an adventure packed 3 weeks we have had travelling through Northern BC, up to the Yukon, and making it to the Alaska border! Every turn has been filled with breath taking views and the most wildlife we have ever seen. Nothing will ever beat waking up in a valley next to a beautiful turquoise river running right through the mountain range.

On our way up to the Alaska Highway, we stopped back in Golden Ears Provincial Park an hour away from Vancouver to do our first multi-day hiking trip. We summited Golden Ears, a 27km hike with 1800m of elevation.

Big smiles at the start of the journey. West Canyon Trail to Golden Ears Peak, Golden Ears Provincial Park, BC.
A gorgeous (hazy) view from the summit.
Our camp set up at Panorama Ridge Campground 1km from the summit.
Chetwynd, BC. Home to the International Chainsaw Carving Championships
Casually sharing the road with some Bison north of Fort Nelson, BC.
Baba Canyon, Stone Mountain Provincial Park, BC.

Spotted some moose out for a dip on the side of the Alaska Highway.

Liard River Hotsprings, BC. A much welcomed 50'C natural hot spring on our journey.
Smith River Falls, BC
Made it to the Yukon!
Left our mark in the historic Sign Post Forest, Watson Lake, Yukon. You'll have to go and find our sign.
Passed by the Alaska Border in Stewart, BC on our way back South.

The Northern Rocky Mountains definitely did not disappoint. Although the rain and cold temperatures (we had 0'C in the van one night) did scare us away, we will definitely be back again! Time to move Southward :)
